I Will Teach You To Be Rich

I tried something a little different after finishing Ramit Sethi’s I Will Teach You To Be Rich – I did a thread on Twitter of my favorite quotes and added some personal notes. You can check out the Twitter thread on the handle DRIVENwm.

I had every intention to write a book for people just getting started with investing. A relatable, how-to guide. I even wrote a couple of chapters in the process. After becoming acquainted with Ramit Sethi’s work, I learned he had a NYT’s bestseller on the topic. I immediately bought it and read it quickly to see how he performed in his efforts.

He did a fantastic job. I’ll be focusing my efforts elsewhere.

I Will Teach You To Be Rich has become a book I highly recommend when people ask for advice on how to get started. For the $5-$10 his book costs, I think you would be hard-pressed to find such a powerful return on your investment when getting started.

With so much financial information available, it is easy to get overwhelmed and face paralysis by analysis. Ramit does a terrific job sifting through the noise and getting to the meat of what young investors should focus on.

While there is plenty of opportunity for an advisor to personalize and improve upon his advice, reading his book will get you far further along than many others I have come across. Check it out and let me know what you think!
